Banned notes recovered

GUWAHATI, May 21: No end to the recovery of banned notes in Guwahati! Baned notes amounting to Rs 94.39 lakh all in 500-rupee and 1000-rupee denomitions was recovered from Six Mile in the city last night by BIEO sleuths. Three persons – Chandan Baishya of Dhamdhama in Baksa, Jadav Deka of Howli and Pradip Deka of Noonmati in the city – were arrested in that connection. The money was carried in a bag and a sac from one Badal for handing it over to one Nirmal Sarma, who fled the scene. Involvement of bank officials in the racket cannot not denied.
