GUWAHATI, March 21: GRP personnel detained one Hussain Ahmed (43) with banned currency notes worth Rs 3.48 lakh, the break-up being one piece of 500-rupee note and 348 pieces of 1000-rupee notes, from Down Kamrup Express at Guwahati Railway station this morning. Hailing from Hojai, Ahemed was bound for Kolkata. He admitted before the GRP personnel that the amount is of his cousin, Toibur Rahman, now staying in Dubai as a domestic help. Toibur, he said, is coming to Kolkata where he is supposed to hand over the cash for exchange.
