Basak turns out to be a history-sheeter

GUWAHATI, Sept 10: Prasun Basak from Kolkata, who was arrested on September 7 in connection with forging cheques with a view to siphon off mid-day meal funds of the Maharashtra Primary Education Board, has turned out to be history-sheeter. Basak has a case registered against him at Dispur Police Station in 2012 (1489/2012) and another case in Dhemaji police station. The case in Dispur Police Station was registered against him for publishing a fake tender for PB Telecommunication. He came to Guwahati on September 4, 2016 when he met Bedanta Baruah.
