Bee-keeping and honey processing training held

GUWAHATI, March 23: Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) organized a bee-keeping and honey processing training sponsored by Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd (TRIFED) at its campus.  A total of 300 unemployed ST youths were trained so far. This is the first initiative of IIE where bee-keeping and honey processing training facility has been set up at the campus.
The programme is especially for the unemployed youth of Schedule Tribes. After completion of the training, bee box, bee keeping and honey processing tools as well as queen bee capturing box were distributed to the trainees. The closing function was held at IIE today. The 8th batch training started from March 20, 2017 with 35 beneficiaries from Assam and Manipur. After completion of the training, hand-holding support will be provided to the trained entrepreneurs by IIE and TRIFED will purchase their honey products.  Manoj Kumar Das, director, IIE,  WR Singh, Course Director & AFM, IIE, Hemanta Rabha, Senior Project Officer, IIE and TS Agou Singson, Asstt. Engineer, TRIFED and run Handique, Biotechnology Department, Gauhati University attended the closing function, a press release said.
