GUWAHATI, February 16: The Nikhil Bharat Bangali Udbastu Samany Samitee (NBBUSS) has said that it will not tolerate any politics on caste. Opposing Silchar MP Sushmita Dev’s demand for being inducted as the deputy chief minister of the state for being a Bengali, a linguistic minority community from the Barak Valley, the NBBUSS today said that Dev was playing rrow politics on caste lines. It said that such a move would drive a wedge between the Bengalis of Barak Valley and the Brahmaputra Valley. On NRC update, the NBBUSS said that the government should solve the problems of Bengali ‘D’ voters once and for all. It also demanded of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to fulfil his assurance of forming a Bengali Development Council in the state.
