Bengali body raps KMSS

GUWAHATI, July 25: The All Assam Bengali Parishad (AABP) today condemned the KMSS for its statement that ‘there are around 20 lakh illegal Hindu Bangladeshi in Assam’. The report was published in a section of the media today.

In a statement issued to the press today, AABP general secretary Rajkumar Mazumdar said: “The KMSS should publish the number of illegal Hindu Bangladeshis staying in Assam with evidence. Hindu Bengalis comprise thirty per cent of Assam’s population. They are inseparable from the Assamese. In such a situation, how come the KMSS terms the Hindu Bengalis as illegal immigrant Bangladeshis. We warn the KMSS to desist from such baseless allegations without any evidence in hand.”
