Bhanu asks officials not to offer work more than 100 days under MGNREGS

Guwahati, Jan 5: Additiol Chief Secretary MGVK Bhanu today conducted a video conference (VC) with Chief Executive Officers, Zilla Parisads, Project Directors, DRDA and Block Development Officers from Kahikuchi Extension Center, State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development (SIPRD) here. “God has given you an opportunity to serve for the poor people of Assam and you should avail it with persol responsibility and full commitment and interest,” Bhanu told officers. The Additiol CS emphasized on finding solutions for constrains faced by the implementing agencies in implementation of various Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Schemes.  He also assured full cooperation from government. The Addl CS instructed all the field officials to implement all the schemes as per guidelines.  He directed not to utilize machineries and bogus job cards in implementing MGNREGS.  He also suggested not offer job more than hundred days to job card holders under MGNREGS. Bhanu further suggested all the field officials to keep coordition amongst themselves and work as a team for successful implementation of the schemes.
