Bhawadwaz thanks Assam NOTA voters

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June28:  RK Bharadwaz, father of NOTA (None of the Above), KMM Party president and convener of Arakshan Samapti Abhiyan said that he had come to thank the NOTA voters of Assam and the media for their help in spreading the idea of NOTA amongst the voters. Talking to newsmen in the city today, he said that they are relentlessly working for socio-political reforms like NOTA and right to recall, replace caste-based reservation by Sanrakshan (free facilities to the poor students for merit-based society and country) and to curb horse-trading in politics.

He said that the Election Commission is spending crores of rupees for the publicity of NOTA in one hand, but denies the legitimate right to win when NOTA gets the maximum number of votes. Candidates who are defeated by NOTA should be barred from contesting elections for at least 10 years, he said.

Bharadwaz said all these reforms would make Swach Rajniti and Real Swach Bharat. He added that BJP is none but a carbon copy of the erstwhile Congress, and it is the right time to expose unethical acts of the BJP. This, according to him, can be done only with the help of NOTA option.

He said an indefinite dhar has been underway with these demands at Jantar Mantar since May 4.

Lastly, he urged Assamese people to come along in the interest of the country and promote NOTA for a better State and the Country.

Shiv Kumar, the general secretary of Arakshan Samapti Abhiyan, was also present at the press meet.
