Bhoga Khirikee new Assamese movie directed by Jahnu Barua

GUWAHATI, Feb 8: Bhoga Khirikee (Broken Window) is a muIti-layerd story, from the perspective of a female protagonist, whose life is in turmoil due to the ideological and existential clash amongst the three men in her life — her father, her husband and a stranger who forces his might upon her. How she pikes up the broken pieces ID chart her own life’s path.

The principle Cast of the film includes Assamese actress Zerifa Wahid, who in the Seema Biswas; Joy Kashyap; tiol Award winner Bishnu Khargoriya; Sanjay khargoriya plays the protagonist’s father; Mohammed Ali Shah, an actor from Mumbai too has an interesting role in the film and a few others.

For Bhoga Khidikee (Broken Window) veteran Art Director Phatik Baruah built a beautifully authentic Assamese type house in the midst of lush foliage and with enchanting views near Kaziranga forests. Suman Duwerah is the Cinematographer of this film while the Sound Design will be done by Mumbai based tiol Award winning recordist, Amrit Pritam. The title song, which has been written and composed by Ibson Lal Baruah, is sung by Anindita Paul and was recorded in Mumbai.

Given her sharp creative acumen, Priyanka persolly chooses the stories and films that her company associates with, and her creative instincts have led the Marathi film Ventilator wining the tiol Award, and their first Sikkimese film to be premiered at the prestigious Toronto Intertiol Film Festival. Purple Pebble is the film is produced by Priyanka Chopra, Madhu Chopra and Shahab Alam. The story and direction of Bhoga Khirikee is by Jahnu Barua.

Besides that the endeavour of both the production companies producing the film is to ensure that this film gets a wider audience, beyond Assam, across India and intertiolly.

 Though the film is titled ‘Bhoga Khirikee’ for the domestic market, for the non-Assamese and intertiol markets the film will be called ‘Broken Window. Priyanka Chopra will be presenting an Assamese film for the first time, and it carries a huge significance given the fact that she is also the ‘Brand Ambassador’ of Assam Tourism.

Purple Pebble Pictures is active with films in Marathi, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Bengali and further developing in various other languages.
