Bhumi Adhikar Sangram Samiti seeks action against hotel owner

GUWAHATI, Aug 11: The Bhumi Adhikar Sangram Samiti today demanded the district administration to arrest the proprietor of a five star hotel, who allegedly constructed the hotel at Khapara area of the city during the tenure of the previous government.

Addressing a press conference here today, Sangram Samiti president Prabin Jyoti Kalita said that the organization has filed a complaint against Suresh Prithani, the proprietor of the hotel at Basistha Police station in this regard.

“The Basistha Police has registered a case (no-773/16) under section 447/34 of the IPC and R/W, Sec 50 of the Assam Land Grabbing Act, 2010 following our complaint. But police have not arrested him so far. So we have demanded immediate arrest of the proprietor of the hotel,” Kalita said.

He also demanded the administration to halt the construction of the five star hotel.
