Bid create scientific temper

GUWAHATI, June 17: With a view to creating scientific temper among people to solve various societal problems arising out of superstitious beliefs the Assam Science Society (ASS) is launching a statewide campaign on July 9. The society is also coming up with ‘rural science fares’ as one of its objective to create scientific temper among people living in 10 districts in the State. The society is set to launch an anti-superstition campaign in 30 branches in the state in first phase. The branches would address issues specific to their areas of activities. Rural science fares would rope in students, local innovators, women, farmers and others. Interactions would also be organized during the two-day event on local specific misbelieves along with popular talks on scientific issues.
