Bihar poll results will have spillover effects in Assam: Ajmal

By our Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Nov 8: AIUDF president and Dhubri MP Maula Badruddin Ajmal today said that the results of Bihar Assembly polls that have been declared today have proved it yet again that the people of India do not have faith in commul and divisive politics. "This is the win of secularism," he said. In a statement issued to the press today, Ajmal greeted Nitish Kumar for the grand alliance led by him getting absolute majority. "That the BJP is a commul party has been proved yet again by the Bihar poll results. We did predict that like the Varasi panchayat poll, in Bihar also secularism will come out triumphant and intolerance will bite the dust. Our prediction is a reality now. The people of the country have come to know the true character of the BJP. By opting to divisive politics soon after coming to power, the BJP has been facing drubbing on all fronts," Ajmal said, and added: "The wave of Bihar poll results will spill over to Assam too. This is because the BJP took a U-turn on issues like big dam, India-Bangladesh Land Swap Deal, deportation of foreigners etc. In the 2016 Assembly polls in the State, the people of Assam will give the BJP a befitting reply. Since its inception, the AIUDF has been speaking for social justice, equal development and equal rights for all, and will continue to speak so."
