BJP appoints city district president

GUWAHATI, Sept 21: The state unit of BJP on Wednesday appointed Bichitra rayan Kalita as the new President of the Guwahati city district.  Speaking to reporters after his appointment, Kalita said that he will work for the overall benefit of the party. “The party has entrusted great responsibility on my shoulders by appointing me as the Guwahati city district President. I will work in close coordition with all the party workers and the four MLAs which constituencies fall under the Guwahati city BJP unit. I will work as a bridge between the party workers and the public representatives,” Kalita stated. It may be mentioned that earlier the saffron party had already appointed 18 district presidents in the first phase. The appointment of the remaining district Presidents have started today with the selection of Kalita as the Guwahati city district President and is likely to be completed in the next two days.
