BJP expels Goalpara civic body chief from party

GUWAHATI, July 28: BJP Assam Pradesh president Ranjit Kumar Dass has expelled party’s Goalpara Municipality Board president kul rzary from the party for disobeying party stricture, leading to the expulsion of board’s vice president Gopi Gosh. Gosh is also a member of the BJP.

Earlier the party asked rzary not to move any no-confidence motion against Gosh. Party’s organizing secretary Phanidhar Deka verbally asked rzary not to move any no-trust motion against Gosh. However, rzary moved the motion, leading to the expulsion of Gosh from the Board.

It was on July 18 when rzary had been issued a show-cause notice by the party asking him as to why he had disobeyed the stricture issued by the party. He was asked to reply the show-cause notice within seven days. As the seven-day time to have passed, the party expelled him on Friday.
