GUWAHATI, Dec 5: The BJP Assam Pradesh has hit back at All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and the party’s Assam in-charge CP Joshi and said that what Joshi said in Guwahati yesterday is the outburst of his frustration.

In a statement issued to the press today, party spokespersons Rupam Goswami and Subhas Dutta said: “The Congress leaders, who looted the exchequer and heaped assets worth thousands of crores of rupees and black money, are at a loss now after the demonetization. They’re now out in a false campaign. What Joshi told the media yesterday is outburst of his frustration. Majority of people in the country are cooperating with Prime Minister rendra Modi on his demonetization. Joshi’s allegation of harassment to the people is baseless. Barring the Congress leaders, no other in the country alleges harassment to the people due to the demonetization.”

Reacting to Joshi’s statement that there should be a discussion on demonetization, the BJP said: “How come there be any discussion on the issue when the 44 Congress members don’t allow the Parliament to work? Whenever the parliament starts any discussion, the Congress leaders start shouting like children. The Congress doesn’t want any tiol development. Besides strengthening the economy of the country, the economic policy undertaken by Modi will let the people of the country have a transparent policy in the world. It is not unknown to Joshi that Modi could recover Rs 65,000 crore black money in the past two years and a half. Despite knowing everything, he is out in a false campaign.”
