BJP inducts some picks of litters in its media cell

GUWAHATI, Nov 11: Bound for the panchayat poll in the State, BJP Assam Pradesh has now some picks of litters as members of its media team. Its media department has long been a grey area in the party in Assam. 
State party president Ranjit Kumar Dass on Saturday picked party’s State general secretary (administration) as in-charge of the media department. He will also look after all activities of the party’s spokespersons and TV panelists. While another general secretary of the party, Mriganka Barman has been made in-charge of the party’s media relations, six other new spokespersons and one TV panelist have also been appointed by Dass. The new spokespersons and TV panelist are Ramkrish Ghosh, MLA Padma Hazarika, Manoj Bauruah, MLA Nomal Momin, Syed Muminul Aowal, Jayanta Mallah Baruah and Subhash Dutta (as TV panelist). Dass has also formed a 23-member state-level panchayat election magement committee headed by Bimal Oswal as chairman. 
Meanwhile, the party welcomed the government slashing GST rate from 28 per cent to 18 per cent on various items at a GST Council meeting held in Guwahati on Friday. 
State BJP spokesperson Pramod Swami also welcomed the cut in GST rates on 178 items from 28 per cent slab rate to 18 per cent slab rate. He said that the move is set to bring down prices of many commodities.
