BJP ministers, MLAs take lessons in 11 sessions

From our Correspondent

DIMORIA, July 12: Assam BJP ministers and MLAs started getting lessons on party principles and ideologies, besides good governce from today. BJP MLAs and ministers from other states of the region are also attending the training that will conclude tomorrow when tiol BJP president Amit Shah will address it.

The Saffron party felt such a necessity in order to do away with, what it said, the 15-year-long misrule by the Congress in Assam. All ministers and MLAs of Assam and other States of the region today huddled together at a resort at Sopur on the outskirts of Guwahati today when the party MLAs and ministers hav as many as 11 sessions from morning till 8 pm. Some MLAs were seen to have taken beddings along with them, indicating that they will have to stay there for the night.

According to party sources, major the tips on good governce given to BJP MLAs and ministers of the region comprise the principles, policies and ideologies of the BJP. The senior leaders of the party, including Rammadhab, told party ministers and MLAs not to do any sort of activities for which the Congress had to be rejected by the people of Assam. “No BJP MLA or minister should involve himself/herself in any corrupt practice, nor should he/she allow any corruption. Every party MLA should make his/her best to share the problems of people of his/her LAC and to remain in touch with them,” sources quoted senior leaders of the party to have told them.

Besides Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal and Fince Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, other BJP ministers and MLAs of Assam and other States of the Northeast were present at the training today.

The party feels the necessity of such refresher trainings for its elected representatives so as to erase misunderstandings that are crept up among the people against the party and its policies. The BJP-led government at Dispur is under such a situation now when a decision taken by the very first Cabinet meeting of the government in hiking in VAT has created ripples among different sections and organizations in the State. In such a situation, all BJP MLAs and ministers in the State should be in tuned with the party principles and policies so as to ensure, what the party leadership said, good governce.

This apart, the Saffron party does not want the legacy of corruption, which had been prevailing among the ministers, MLAs and bureaucrats in Assam during the last Congress regime, is passed on to its ministers and MLAs in the State.

It is worth mentioning here that the Saffron party imparts good governce training to its MLAs and ministers in all States being ruled by the party.
