BJP observes Vajpayee's 94th birthday as good governce day

GUWAHATI, Dec 25: The BJP Assam Pradesh joined the rest of the country in celebrating the 94th birth anniversary of first BJP Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Monday as good governce day. In Assam, the party observed the day centrally at its headquarters at Hengrabari – Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan. The State BJP observed the day in as many as its 38 organizatiol districts.  
Speaking on the occasion, RSS’ Northeast Prachar Promukh Sankar Das said: “No Prime Minister or Chief Minister can ensure good governce alone. If practical aspects of good governce are to be made a reality, all will have to give up persol gains and work with dedication for the betterment of society, right from the PMO or CMO to the panchayat offices. Pokhran-II under Vajpayee as the Prime Minister of India was an example of good governce since was accomplished well, kept a secret and all involved in it right from scientists to officials were in sync with one another.”
State BJP president Ranjit Kumar Das said: “The precedent set by Vajpayeeji as the Prime Minister has no parallel. He is not just an astute politician, but an astute administrator as well. He could prove this by keeping as many as 23 political parties together. His role in connectivity, including the four-lane tiol highway and the Pradhan Mantri Gramya Sadak Yoja (PSGSY), are significant. He made road communication to every rural village to main roads possible.”
Senior BJP leader Dr. Pradip Thakuria gave a life sketch of Vajpayee and a detailed account of his good governce while in the PMO. 
Earlier in the day, a tree plantation programme was taken in the BJP quarters by planting a sapling in the me of the former Prime Minister.
