BJP out to help AIUDF: Akhil

By our Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, March 12: Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi has squarely appealed to the voters of Assam not to vote for the BJP in the forthcoming Assembly election in the State.  Akhil did take an anti-Congress stand in the last Lok Sabha and the Assembly elections in Assam. However, this time around, without openly appealing to the voters of the State to vote for the Congress, the KMSS leader has asked the voters to go for altertive candidates for BJP candidates. He, however, has stopped short of ming the altertive party or candidates.  Talking to newsmen in the city today, Akhil Gogoi asked the BJP if it would give Himanta Biswa Sarma a chance to loot the State that had been looted by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for long 15 years. He said: “Himanta is all in all, and Sarbanda is just a puppet. The indigenous Muslim leader in the party in the State, Mominul Aowal hasn’t been given party ticket. In fact, the BJP has prepared this list to help the AIUDF. Himanta Biswa Sarma advocating for 1951 as the cut-off year for the detection and deportation of foreigners is to create a panicky among the Muslims so that they vote for the AIUDF. How come Bhaskar Sarma, who has been tainted in the secret killing episode, get a BJP ticket?”
