Talking to newsmen in the city today, the KMSS leader said: “The BJP is a bigger enemy of Assam than the Congress. If the Congress is python, the BJP is aconda. A section of politicians terms this election as the Battle of Saraighat, but it is against the people of Assam only. They have insulted the Assamese. I appeal to the people of the State to vote for honest candidates.”

The KMSS leader also raised ten points as to why he has been opposing the BJP. He said: “The UPA government decontrolled petroleum on June 26, 2010. The BJP decontrolled diesel on October 19, 2014. This has led the people to make an extra payment of Rs 30.59 a litre of petrol and Rs 16.45 a litre of diesel. This is not all. The NDA Government has hiked train fare, prices of medicines, stripped Assam of its special status, slashed the interest of fixed deposit and term deposit in banks, slashed PF  interest by one per cent, decided to allow 100 per cent FDI in retail business, hiked service tax, percentage of loan has been slashed, hike is prices of essential commodities etc.”
