BJP requested to reserve LACs for tribals

GUWAHATI, April 6: The Deori Jajati 6th Schedule Demand Committee has moved BJP's tiol president Amit Shah, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jewel Oram and Union Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs (independent charge) Sarbanda Sonowal for the reservation of some seats for the tribals of Assam in the party in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state slated for 2016. According to Dr. Muhi Chandra Deori, BJP activist and adviser of the Deori Jajati 6th Schedule Demand Committee, they sent a memorandum each to Shah, Oram and Sonowal today and requested them to reserve the Majuli Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) for the Deoris, Dhakuakha LAC for the Misings, Dhemaji LAC for the Sonowal Kacharis and Joi LAC for the Misings.
