BJP thanks people for defying bandh call

GUWAHATI, Nov 28: The BJP Assam Pradesh has thanked the people of Assam for defying the bandh called the Opposition parties in protest against the demonetization.

In a statement issued to the press today, party spokesmen Jayanta Mallah Baruah and Subhash Dutta said: “At a time when the people of the country are found to be cooperative with the demonetization move taken in order to put an end to corruption and black money in the country, the protest taken out by the Congress and the Left parties is a planned drama. The protest has made it crystal clear among the people that the protest was taken out in support of those who hoard black money and loot state exchequers. Majority of people in the country have praised Prime Minister rendra Modi for his measures taken up to put an end to corruption and black money and to make India one of the greatest countries in the world. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also termed the step taken by Modi as a genuine one. The people of Assam know it well as to why the Congress has taken out a protest march against the demonetization.”

Meanwhile, the party has condemned the attack on Kokrajhar district BJP president Shivath Brahma. The BJP spokesmen said that the attack is cowardice that cannot solve any problem.
