BJP to be strict in enrolling members from other parties

GUWAHATI, April 18: Now on the BJP is not to let people from other parties to join it at ease. “In special cases, party president’s permission is a must for joining the BJP from other parties,” said State BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass, while talking to The Sentinel today. The decision, according to Dass, was taken at the recent core committee meeting of the party held in Guwahati. The recent central executive committee meeting of the party at Bhubaneshwar also had a detailed discussion on the issue. On the much talked about Cabinet expansion, Dass said: “The Cabinet will be expanded during Bohag. It’s the prerogative of the Chief Minister. He’ll induct new faces into his Cabinet through discussion. Some senior leaders will certainly get due respect.” Sources, however, said that Dass would form the State committee of the party only after the Cabinet expansion. The executive committee meeting of the State committee of the party is slated to be held on April 29 and 30.
