BJYM to take out I-Day torchlight procession today

GUWAHATI, August 13: The BJYM, along with rest of the country, is going to take out a torchlight procession at various places in Assam at 6 pm tomorrow in memory of the great Indians who lost their lives in the struggle for independence.  Assam BJYM will observe the day with rest of the country and centrally in Guwahati. It will also celebrate I-Day in as many as 250 mandals in the State. In Guwahati a torchlight procession will be taken out from Ulubari HS School field to Ganesh Udyan at Ganeshguri.  State BJYM president Diplu Ranjan Sarma said this in a press meet today. He said that this year Prime Minister rendra Modi gave a call to observe the 70th Independence Day in a befitting manner under the slogan – 70 Saal Azadi, Yaad Karo Kurbani. This programme is to be observed from August 9 to 23, and Modi did launch it on August 9.
