GUWAHATI, March 17: Blame game has began over Election Commission ‘raid’ at Congress leader and minister of Tarun Gogoi cabinet Rakibul Hussain’s residence as the Congress expressed suspicion that the officer who led the ‘raid’ was instructed by the BJP, whereas the latter have to say that the minister showed intolerance by not cooperating with the Election Commission.

In a statement to the media on Thursday, APCC president Anjan Dutta condemned the incident and said that the way the minister and his family was harassed cannot be justified, he said that he suspects that the officer who led the ‘raid’ had instruction from the BJP and accused the BJP of misusing power. He also urged the Election Commission to remove the officer from election duty in the State.

On the other hand, the BJP slammed the minister for blaming the BJP and said that by not cooperating with the EC officials who come from an autonomous body, the minister has shown intolerance towards the establishment set-up by the constitution of the country. In a statement they also said that the minister should have instead cooperated with the EC officials.
