Blood brokers on the prowl in GHCH!

GUWAHATI, June 25: That blood brokers have been active in the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has been proved yet again. They are on the prowl in the hospital complex to deceive gullible patients and their attendants.

The GMCH caught a person using a fake sticker for blood yesterday. According to sources, Satyajit Baruah, son of Thaneswar Baruah of Rupgar in the Bhangagarh area, was caught by the GMCH authority when he was trying to get blood by using a fake sticker. Satyajit, according sources, took Rs 6,000 from a patient with the promise of doting blood. The GMCH authority handed over the fraud to Bhangagarh police and lodged an FIR. A case (118/16) under section 468 471/ 420 IPC has been registered in connection with the incident at Bhangagarh police station.  Investigation of the case is going on to arrest other accused, if any.
