BMSS chief promises four academic semirs a year

GUWAHATI, February 2: The Bishnurpiya Manipuri Sahitya Sabha (BMSS) was reconstituted in its 11th two–day conference held at Silchar from January 31 to February 1. The conference retained retired IFS Manindra Sinha as its president, while Prof. Barindra Sinha was elected as the working president.

The four general secretaries of the new committee are Manikanta Sinha, Prof. lini Kanta Sinha, Associate Professor Mas Sinha and poet rendra Sinha.

During his speech, the relected president said that he would ensure the holding of as many as four academic semirs a year, besides regular publication BMSS’ mouthpiece – Aparupa.

The open session was presided over by Barindra Sinha, while former SCERT Director, Assam Kumkum Singha was the chief guest. In her speech, she said that she was happly to play her role while ensuring the jobs of as many as 149 Bishnupriya Manipuri primary school teachers along with the Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Students’ Union and the BMSS.

Meanwhile, a number of artistes and a tiol champion girl shuttler from Manipur were felicitated on the occasion. The participation to the session from Manipuri was impressive.
