Body of newborn found

GUWAHATI, Sept 6: The body of a newborn was found in a GMCH lavatory near the emergency labour room on the ground floor last night. The body was first spotted by the supervisor, who informed the sweeper of the body of the newborn. The sweeper made no delay to take it to the labour room. The GMCH authorities then informed Bhangagarh Police Station of the development. The police soon rushed to the hospital and started to quiz those in the labour room, but failed to get any clue.  Today the post-mortem of the body of the infant was conducted in front of the Magistrate. Now the body has been kept in a box in the morgue for 72 hours, as the rules goes.
