Body of youth dug out, two arrested

AZARA, Oct 4: The police recovered the body of one Sabiqul Islam, hailing from Sakomakugaon in Jagiroad who had come to the house of Hanif Ali at Bongora Panchoniapara near Azara police station on Tuesday, from a grave on Thursday. The police arrested a mother-daughter duo – Futeja Khatoon (46) and Halima Khatoon (21), wife and daughter of Hanif Ali. Hanif Ali has been absconding.

According to police sources, Sabiqul Islam was known to Hanif Ali who was staying on rent in the house of Md. Hussain Ali. Hanif Ali is also hailing from Kuriodol in Jagiroad and was working as a daily-wage earner.  The owner of the house heard a quarrel between Hanif and Sabiqul who, however, kept quiet after sometime. Smelling a rat, this morning Hussain Ali lodged a complaint with Azara police station. The police recovered the body Sabiqul from a grave covered with leaves of trees in the campus of Hussain Ali. The mother-daughter duo confessed before the police that Sabiqul was killed for Rs 60,000 he had with him.
