GUWAHATI, Aug 18: It looks like pulling a hoax on the people of Guwahati! An agricultural spray machine bound for Silchar through the RMS created a ruckus when security personnel were on their toes, suspecting it to be explosive device that proved to be a hoax only getting it destroyed. In a statement issued to the press on Friday, the Assam Police said that a machine with a ticking sound was detected at Guwahati Railway Station on Friday needing us to deploy the bomb disposal squad for the safety and security of the public in general. It was decided to defuse the suspected parcel by blasting it in a safe place. The parcel, according to the police, was taken to Rani Firing Range with the help of a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and a trailer. The matter is being inquired into.
