Brahmaputra Board team visits Majuli

GUWAHATI, Mar 6: The Technical Advisory Committee of Brahmaputra Board (TAC-BB) headed by rendra Kumar, Chairman, Central Water Commission, made a pre-monsoon inspection of Majuli Island from to March 2 to 4 for identification of erosion prone reaches at Tekliphuta, Kamalabari, Pakhimuri – Padumoni, Kordoiguri, Ukhalchuk and Chamaguri under Ahatguri Gaonpanchayat. The TAC-BB recommended remedial measures for taking up protection of erosion affected reaches. Based on the recommendation of TAC-BB a Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared by Brahmaputra Board for consideration of Standing Fince Committee (SFC) of Government of India stated to be held on March 10.
