Brahmaputra lit fest in city from Jan 28

GUWAHATI, Dec 15:  tiol Book Trust, India in collaboration with Publication Board, Assam will organise Brahmaputra Literary Festival at Guwahati with a three-day event from January 28 to 30. Sankardeva KaIa Kshetra will be the main venue of the Festival, with some events being read out in different parts of the city including one reading on the Cruise event.

The organizing committee deliberated upon the proper representation of young writers, women writers as well as celebrity authors belonging to the Northeast and other parts of the county.

The Literary Festival would also seek to bring in an intertiol flavor by inviting some young and new voices from foreign countries.

The basic thrust of this first of its kinds Literary Festival is to provide a platform of dialogue and debate among the authors of the Northeast, and other tiol and intertiol litterateurs and to foster a better understanding about the literary and cultural landscape of the region vis-a-vis other parts of India, as well as the larger world. The three-day event is likely to wittiness participation of nearly 60-75 authors, including children book artists, graphic artists, film makers, script-writers etc.
