Breast Cancer Update from Oct 15

GUWAHATI, Oct 13: Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati, in association with Adley Oncology, Chandigarh, is going to organize Breast Cancer Update-2017 from October 15-16, 2017.

According to a press release, the conference will be attended by oncologists from the entire Northeast India. The key note speaker will be Dr. Mikael Hartmann from the tiol University Hospital of Singapore.  Dr. Joydeep Purkayastha, Professor, Surgical Oncology, BBCI and Dr. Sunil M B Barua have appealed to all doctors who are interested to attend the conference.

BBCI Director Dr. Amal Chandra Kataki said that there are certain modifiable risk factors for breast cancer, which when adopted may help a woman to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer in future. Adopting healthy life style like consuming high fibre and a diet rich in vegetables, avoidance of alcohol and tobacco, promoting breast feeding, and undertaking regular exercises are the ways of reducing the risk for the development of breast cancer, said Dr Kataki.
