Brihattar Kalakshetra Sarbajanin Durga Puja

GUWAHATI, Sept 20: After the grand success of its iuguration edition, the Brihattar Kalakshetra Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee (BKSDPC) is all set to organize the second edition of Shree Shree Durga Puja from 26th October with a five-day programme at Jilika Path, near Srimanta Kalakshetra, Panjabari.

Besides the daily puja rituals, Thiya am and gera am will also be held on the occasion along with other cultural programmes. Bhog will be served to all on Saptami, Ashthami and vami.

Like last year, inmates of old-age home have also been invited. They will be brought by the committee members to the puja venue for paying obeisance to the deity.

Earlier, a public meeting was recently held at Jilika Path, Panjabari in this regard where a new committee was constituted. While Dr Tushar Chakraborty has been made president of the BKSDPC, Prabhat Hazarikia and Prabhat Baruah are the new vice-presidents. Dhirendra th Bhuyan has been made the secretary of the committee. Similarly, the meeting also selected Deepak Talukdar, Anirban Choudhury and Dhrubajyoti Goswami as joint secretaries, while Ramen Dutta has been made the treasurer. 

While acknowledging its gratitude to the people for making the iugural edition of Durga Puja last year a huge success, the committee has appealed to everyone to make the ensuring puja celebrations a huge success too.
