Broadcast of Assamese novel in Nepali

GUWAHATI, March 15: Sahitya Akademi Award-winning novel Abhiyatri, written by Nirupama Borgohain based on the life and deeds of noted Gandhian freedom fighter and pioneer of women emancipation movement in the Northeast Late Chandraprabha Saikiani, will be broadcast for the people of Nepal and Nepali-inhabited areas of India by All India Radion (AIR), Exterl Service Division, New Delhi. The broadcast is the result of a request from Assam Pradeshik Mahila Samity (APMS). In a statement issued to the press today, APMS president Nilima Kakati said: "The programme will be broadcast in 'Pustak Path' on fortnightly basis from March 25, 2017. It can be listened on DRM 603Khz and 7505,  9800 Khz at 7.11 am and will be repeated same day at 7.11 pm on DRM 603 and 4870, 7555 and 11775 Khz. It can also be listened by logging AIR website:airworldservice.org/nepali and ESD, All India Radio App that can be downloaded from google play store. The Nepali edition of the Novel has already been published by Sahitya Akademi. It has been translated by Geeta Upadhya."
