In a statement issued to the press today, BSS general secretary Kamala Kanta Mushahary said: “We’ve sent a memorandum to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in this connection. We’ve demanded a ban on the sale of the textbook and punishment to the officials who are in-charge of publication of books. The issue was discussed at the BSS central executive meeting held on February 21. The meeting discussed the matter that every year the BSS in entrusted to revise any textbooks of the SEBA that are related to Bodos. However, this time around, the BSS has been skipped for the purpose. The meeting decided to form a sub-committee for revision of textbooks. They decided to raise the demand for correction and reprint of the textbook.”
