BSS for MA in Bodo in DU

GUWAHATI, July 23: A five-member delegation of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) that has been in New Delhi for the past few days is putting pressure on those at the helm of affairs for the introduction of M.A. in Bodo in Delhi University (DU). The BSS team first met DU vice chancellor with a memorandum. They also submitted a memorandum towards that end to the UGC chairman. They met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as well and sought his help towards that end. The BSS team also met tiol Book Trust (NBT) Director Rita Choudhury and discussed Bodo translation literature. They submitted her proposal for a children literature project to be taken up by the BSS and the NBT. The NBT agreed to the proposal and told the BSS team to hold a workshop in Kokrajhar for the purpose in September this year.   The BSS team met Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jewel Oram earlier and demanded proper implementation of the Traditiol Forest Dwellers Act, 2005 in Assam. During the discussion, the minister assured the team of doing the needful. The team comprises Dipak Kumar Basumatary, Bisweswar Basumatary, Kamala Kanta Mushahary, Prasanta Boro and Khagendra Kumar Ramchiary.
