BSS moves HRD Minister for Bodo Major in AU colleges

GUWAHATI, July 20: A five-member delegation of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) led by MP Biswajit Daimary meet HRD Minister Prakash Javedekar in New Delhi yesterday and raised the demand for introduction of Bodo Major courses in all colleges affiliated to Assam University (AU) at Silchar and MA programmes wherever feasible.

The MP added another demand for upgrading CIT located at Kokrajhar into a deemed university in accordance with the announcement made by Prime Minister rendra Modi during his last Kokrajhar visit on January 19, 2016.

Javedekar assured the delegation of initiating talks with the UGC and officials concerned on their demands.

The team comprised Bisheswar Basumatary, Dipak Kumar Basumatary, Kamala Kanta Mushahary, Prasanta Boro and Khogendra Kumar Ramchiary.
