‘Buddhism in Assam’ to be released today

GUWAHATI, March 19: US based engineer in oil and gas sector and a critical writer on Assamese literary and cultural issues Dr Rajen Barua’s book ‘Buddhism in Assam’ will be released at the Guwahati Press Club today at 1 pm. Organised by Sabda Prakash, the programme will also be marked by the launch of iugural issue of ‘Saneki’, a bilingual translated magazine to feature selections of world literature in translation, to be released by noted educationist Dr Manjumala Das. Eminent editor and writer Kaksen Deka will release ‘Buddhism in Assam’, the book which grew from Dr Rajen Barua’s doctoral research under Dibrugarh University for which he was awarded the PhD degree in 2015.
