Cabinet okays ALRS in line of ACS

GUWAHATI, July 1: The skeleton strength of circle officers (COs) and block development officers (BDOs) is badly felt in the State. In order to put an end  to the crisis, the State Cabinet approved the creation of a new service - Assam Land and Revenue Service (ALRS) - in the line of the Assam Civil Service (ACS). The current strength of ACS in the State is 1,001, and 157 of them will be taken to the ALRS so as to meet the crisis.
