Call 2 from each local organization: AASU to panel

GUWAHATI, Oct 21: The Joint Parliamentary Committee for hearing on the Citizenship Act Amendment Bill, 2016 has called only two representatives from the 28 indigenous organizations of the State, including the AASU, for hearing.

The leaders of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), after coming to know this development, contacted the leaders of all the organizations and discussed the matter. The students’ body has also sent an email message to the parliamentary committee requesting it to call at least the president and the general secretary of each of the 28 organizations for hearing on the Bill.
