Campaign for phase 1 polls ends today

GUWAHATI, April 1: As per the direction of the Election Commission of India, the campaign period in the district going for the first phase of the election to the Assam Assembly Election-2016, will end on April 2, 2016 at 5 PM. In this regard, the Chief Electoral officer of Assam has called upon all the political parties and the contesting candidates to close their election campaign on the aforesaid date and time. Meanwhile, the EC has banned all exit polls from April 4 to May 16 and opinion polls before 48 hours in each phase of the Assembly polls.
