GUWAHATI, May 1: The Government Railway Police (GRP) has recovered cash amounting to Rs 16 lakh from the Tripura-Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express in Guwahati railway station on Tuesday morning.  The GRP, while conducting its routine vigil at the platform No. 1, detected the carriage from the possession of Ajay Kr Singh (23) and Sanjay Kr Singh (22). Both the accused carried Rs 8 lakh each. They  hail from Vaishali districts of Bihar. Two more accused – Mithlesh Singh (37) from Silchar, Cachar and Binay Kr Singh (34) from Bihar – were also detained. During Preliminary enquiry, it was revealed that the said cash belonged to one Mithlesh Singh, who is reportedly a brick kiln owner. After observing the formalities, the GRP has handed them over to the Income Tax Department, Guwahati for further investigation.
