Centre lauds Guwahati school

GUWAHATI, April 24: Adding another feather in its cap, NPS Intertiol School, Guwahati has received the Certificate of Excellence from the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for “Pariskar Assam”, a documentary film prepared by its students, during the Swachh Bharat Short Film Festival Competition, New Delhi.

In a communiqué, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M Venkiah idu and Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore congratulated the students associated with the preparation of the short documentary film.

“Pariskar Assam” is a short documentary film of three minutes duration prepared by some students of NPS Intertiol School. Elaborating on different issues relating to the garbage dumping in and around Guwahati city, the film also suggested various means to make Guwahati a clean and green city.

“We are very much thankful to the Government of India for selecting us for the coveted Certificate of Excellence. All the crew members, who are the students of NPS Intertiol School only, tried their level best to complete this short film. We would also like to thank Mr JN Das, founder and chairman of the school, for giving us the opportunity to learn filmmaking apart from our regular studies in school,” Sukanya Das, director of the film and a Class VIII students of the school, said.
