CHYPA demands Rs 10 crore for Chatt Puja

GUWAHATI, Oct 14: The Sarv Hindustani Yuva Parishad, Assam (SHYPA) has demanded Dispur to release Rs 10 crore for all the Chatt Ghat Organization committees all over the State taking cue from the Delhi Government that has already released Rs 44 crore to Chatt Puja Committees in the Capital State. Chatt Puja is slated for October 26 and 27, 2017.
Talking to the media at Guwahati Press Club here on Saturday, SHYPA leaders said that the Parishad had taken steps for protection of Hindi-speaking people in Assam, providing benefits of government schemes to Hindi-speakers in the State, restoration of Hindi Bharati culture in Assam through various festivals, etc. The Parishad also demanded the government to ensure foolproof security cover to all Chatt ghats all over Assam, besides declaring a day holiday in the State on the occasion of Chatt Puja.
