CIC asks CID to provide information to petitioner

GUWAHATI, May 27: Himangshu Sekhar Das, Assam Chief Information Commissioner, has directed the Additiol DGP, CID to examine an RTI application submitted by Dulal Bora. The order has also directed him to give an appropriate response regarding the application and to provide information either fully or in part within 30 days, a press release said. On the other hand, if the information sought cannot be disclosed either fully or even partly, then the ADGP, CID shall inform Dulal Bora within 30 days about the relevant provision of the RTI Act under which the information cannot be disclosed, the release said. Dulal Bora filled an RTI application on June 3, 2013 and wanted to know information from CID regarding an investigation of fincial discrepancy committed by fincial establishment - eevan Suraksha - through its business. As Bora could not get the information sought, he filed a second appeal petition on October 30, 2013. On hearing the second appeal petition, the commission passed the order, the release added.
