CID team recording statements

Jugdol murder case

From our Correspondent
DIMORIA, Dec 16: With the mantra ‘clue us in’ on the heinous Jugdol murder case CID sleuths have been camping at Sopur on the outskirts of Guwahati since December 15. They are set to stay at Sopur till December 18.
CID is holding the camp at Sopur PWD Inspection Bungalow from December 15-18, 2017 to record public statements on the gruesome Jugdol murder case of December 12, 2009. The camp is led by the investigation officer under the supervision of DIG CID Rauk Ali Hazarika.
The CID interrogated the wife and son of Arjun Bodoloi, the prime accused in the murder case. The body of Arjun Bordoloi had been found hung in the forest nearby after being identified as an accused in the murder. Mystery continues to shroud as to why the police failed to get to core in the murder case despite forensic experts and police collecting samples in connection with the murder.
After eight years on December 6 this year CID sleuths arrested police officials Prab Deka (then OC, Sopur Police Station) and Abdul Matlib Chowdhury (then Investigation Officer) with reference to case number 18/2012 under Section 120/436/201 IPC.  Six persons of a single family — Harakanta Doley, his wife Swap Doley, their three children and his nephew — were beheaded, on that fateful night.
