City celebrates Idd-Ul-Zuha

GUWAHATI, Sept 13: Holy Idd-Ul-Zuha was celebrated in Assam, along with the rest of the world. In Guwahati devotees thronged Idgahs and Masjids and offer prayer. The idgahs in the city at Jalukbari, Machkhowa and Sijubari and masjids at Haji Mushafir Kha, Satgaon, Noonmati, Ulubari, Ganeshguri, etc., were thronged by devotes. The faithful gifted away gifts to the poor.

At Machkhowa the faithful told The Sentinel after their prayers: “Idd-Ul-Zuha is the symbol of sacrifice. We’ve prayed for peaceful existence of all cultures and faiths of the people of Assam, regardless of their caste, creed or religion.”
