City girl needs votes in reality show

GUWAHATI, June 27: Guwahati girl Aakangkhya Das, a class IX student of Srimata Sankar Academy of the city, has made it to the top six of Big Golden Voice among over 30 participants across India. She is now hoping to be at the third position provided she gets the right number of votes.
“I went to the office of Indian Idol at Beltola to ask if auditions are round the corner. They told me about the Golden Voice held by Big 92.7 FM radio station. Once I cleared the auditions I became ready for the competition. The Big FM centre in Guwahati would record a track in my voice and send it to the main centre in Mumbai,” she said.
“I’ve had Bistara course in classical singing under Pragyan Baruah. I go through rigorous rehearsal every day and try to balance it with my studies. I’m interested in playback singing and have strength in the folk genre and Bollywood. I get due support from my parents,” she added.
Aakangkhya is currently in danger zone with four of her counterparts. Her fate will be ensured by public voting to acquire the third position in the competition. The first and second positions have already been declared by judges.
