City NGO on save rhino campaign from Dec 28

GUWAHATI, Dec 12: An eight-member team of ture Care and Tourism Education Foundation of the city is going to start an awareness campaign against rhino poaching in the 29 states of the country for three months, beginning December 28 this year.

Addressing the media at Guwahati Press Club on Tuesday, Foundation president Julin Boruah said: “Our Foundation was formed in 2016 since when we’ve been working against rhino poaching. We collected baby food powder as dotion to feed rhino calves rescued during floods last year, held cultural interaction programmes at Kaziranga tiol Park in October last year, carried out awareness campaign on one-horned rhinos during ISL in November 2016 etc. During this tour we’re going to hold semirs in major universities in the country on one-horned rhinos. We’ve requested political parties in the tion to support Pan India save rhino awareness campaign.  We’re going to rope in persolities from the film fraternity in the campaign. On the concluding day of the campaign, we’re going to meet the Prime Minister of India. We’ve sent a missive to him to this effect.”
